We’ve Secured Our Own Space!

We’ve Secured Our Own Space! How? Our Large Gifts Campaign! Art From The Streets has successfully launched a Large Gifts Campaign to expand our program by securing a PERMANENT location for our program! While this is amazing news, we’re not finished.

This 2,000 square foot space provides room for open studio, storage, events, community collaborations, participation in art shows as one of Austin’s art galleries, and creative events.

We are thrilled to be accepted into Georgetown Art Center show season curated in collaboration with AFTS Artists & J. Muzacz, Public Artist & Co-Founder of The Mosaic Workshop at Something Cool Studios. With an emphasis on creating Art From [and on] The Streets - we are excited for you to experience this cinematic and abstract exhibit!

Did we have a plan to for 2020, YES! Did we have to take a hard right hand turn, YES!

Art From The Streets is thrilled to say with the help of our amazing board and volunteers we were able to steer towards a positive, creative and supportive year for the artists in our program as well as many experiencing homelessness and at-risk in Austin, Texas.

Within days of the first round of Art Kits being mailed to our artists, we received many positive reports. The response was so outstanding, after two months of creation - our artists turned in their sketchbooks to be auctioned off at our August “Summer of AFTS” online art show. Crystal has been coming to AFTS Open Studio for more than 5 years and tries to attend once a week “so that I feel like I’m doing something - life’s not just passing me by. I have something to look forward to.”
